Ramadan Announcement

"The month of Ramadhan [is that] in which was revealed the Qur'an, a guidance for the people and clear proofs of guidance and criterion."

Holy Quran 2:185

Dear Brothers & Sisters,
Salam Alaykum.

The Moon-Sighting Committee of the Council of Shia Muslim Scholars in North America announces that Tuesday, March 12th, 2024, will be the first day of the Holy Month of Ramadhan, 1445 A.H. for the entire region of North America.

This determination is based on the fact that there were no verified sightings of the crescent moon by the naked eye at sunset on Sunday, March 10th, 2024 in any region of North America. Therefore, Monday, March 11th, 2024 will be the last day of Shaban.

Ramadan Mubarak! We ask God, the Most High, to accept your fasting, grant success in performing good deeds, and to hasten the Return of Our Master, Imam Mahdi (p).
